Machine Learning Engineer
Smartbell’s mission is to improve animal health, tackle global hunger through sustainable farming and address antibiotic resistance.
We are looking for talented individuals interested in developing innovative, machine learning-based solutions to convert precision data to useful insights. Our team is based in the heart of Cambridge, UK. Remote working option is available.
This role offers an opportunity for candidates to expand their talents by participating directly in the full life cycle of product development. Individual visibility within the team is high, and there are opportunities for advancement with successful delivery.
All levels of Smartbell’s software engineers work directly on production-level code in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment on products with a rapid time to market. In this role, you will apply your ML modeling skills to train, validate and test models for interpreting sensor data. You will perform methodical analysis on the efficacy of different approaches and present clear recommendations to the team and management.
Qualifications:
Masters’ degree or higher in computer science or applied mathematics or an equivalent commercial experience. You will be able to demonstrate good foundational knowledge in computing fundamentals and the ability to write high-quality, well-structured and tested code. You should be comfortable working with and visualizing huge data sets.
You will have prior experience in these areas –
- Training, validation, testing, and metrics for developing machine learning model in R/Matlab/Python
- Implementation of ML models in production systems
- Supervised, unsupervised machine learning and deep learning techniques
Bonus points for any prior experience with Tensor Flow, signal processing, or precision sensor data streams.
